If you are interested in helping out with a specific Ballard High School team, the most direct way to get involved is to talk to the coach about being a Team Parent. If there’s already a Team Parent in place for this season, ask that person if they need some help! Each BHS team has a different set of needs, often including support for things like fundraising, carpools, or organizing team events. Team Parents also often serve as liaison between their teams and the ABC. Ballard High School Athletic Booster Club Board Positions
The ABC Board is made up of a group of Ballard High School sports parents who are passionate about the benefits that a strong athletics program offers to all Ballard High School students. We are “the team behind the teams,” focusing largely on program-wide administrative, bookkeeping, communications, and sometimes financial support for BHS athletic teams.
Board Members serve a 2-year term and are elected at the May Board Meeting. If you are interested in learning more about currently vacant positions or shadowing a current board member, please email our President.
PRESIDENT: responsible for internal leadership (setting agendas, running meetings, making sure ABC actions align with mission), external leadership (representing the ABC at community events), and liaison with BHS Athletic Director, BHS Administration, and any other groups wishing to partner with the ABC in support of BHS Athletics.
VICE PRESIDENT: supports the President or Co-Presidents by providing internal and external leadership in achieving the Club's goals. Attends events or speaking engagements and leads meetings, as requested by the President or Co-presidents. Supports the Club's fundraising efforts and other activities. Manages the Team Grant process.
TREASURER: handles all deposits and check requests for the ABC and all BHS athletic teams. Maintains clear, standardized, computerized ledger. Reconciles team accounts monthly. Tracks the ABC budget and presents current statements at all Board meetings.
SECRETARY: takes minutes at ABC meetings, makes minutes available to Board members and to ABC website archive. Adds ABC events to website calendar as needed.
COMMUNICATIONS: responsible for ensuring clarity and consistency in ABC messaging, visuals, and branding. Produces or oversees production of ABC Newsletter, Website, and Social Media accounts. Develops online forms as needed. Serves as ABC contact for Ballard Beaver logo needs.
BEAVER GEAR: orders, maintains inventory, and sells Beaver Gear Spirit Wear. Develops and manages one Spirit Giveaway per sports season.
MEMBERSHIP: manages membership process and member database. Develops ideas for incentivizing membership and increasing membership.
PARENT REPRESENTATIVE COORDINATOR: point of contact for Team Parents and the ABC Board. Develops relationships with teams and provides team fundraising ideas/support as needed.
SOCIAL/COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR: develops and produces or oversees social events for the BHS Athletics Community. Produces or oversees the annual Ballard Athletics Blast fundraiser.
